Back to the Baroque!

Pianist David Carleton will focus on 200 years of piano music inspired by the Baroque era. George Rochberg’s Nach Bach begins the journey, with stops along the way for Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin, Schubert’s Fantasy in F minor for four hands, finally arriving at the point of origin, J. S. Bach’s Italian Concerto.
About David Carleton
Pianist David Carleton has enjoyed careers as both a performer and educator. A magna cum laude graduate in piano performance from the University of Southern California, he studied with such distinguished teachers as Helen Taverniti, James Bonn, Edward Auer, Robert McDonald, and Richard Goode.
As a collaborative artist, Mr. Carleton has performed with some of the most respected names in classical music, including harpsichordist Kenneth Cooper, flautist Paula Robison, and violinist Isaac Stern. His work as a soloist has brought him to the stage with the Meridian String Quartet, the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.
A passionate advocate for early childhood music education, Mr. Carleton introduced the Suzuki Piano Method to two New York City community music schools, including the Turtle Bay Music School, where he served as Executive Director. He has also been active as an accompanist for the New York City Children's Chorus since its inception at the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church.
